'THE TWO PETERS'
Over the past four decades there has been a quiet but powerful presence in the conservation of Red Kites known affectionately as äthe two Peters'. Coming from very different backgrounds, one a Yorkshire man the other a native Cardie, the two Peters are, in my opinion, more responsible for the present healthy state of the Welsh Red Kite population than anyone else - although they are both far too modest to say so themselves. Having profiled the Trust's consultant Project Officer and all the current trustees we now turn to our Patrons. Recently featured in his own documentary , Sir Michael Leighton Bt. is a keen supporter of all wildlife but birds of prey - and the Red Kite especially - are particular passions. He is a keen supporter of the Welsh Kite Trust and quite insistant that "it's my turn next"!
